STATEMENT

I believe that every athlete brings something to the table. Anybody can become amazing with time, practice, dedication, passion, and good coaching. I believe as a coach that striving to make my athletes overall great people on and off the mat is the most important thing. I believe in training to flourish in all areas.

Earn a New Degree 

I am passionate about learning and have a high interest in health. I want to pursue a graduate degree, I just need to figure out what exactly I want to be as a professional. I do plan on attending and completing an advanced degree. I am working on completing this goal by shadowing and interning to help me decide what I want to pursue and what will be most fulfilling to me 

Become and an Expert in my field 

I want to become an expert in what field I end up in. I want to do this because I want to be able to educate patients and athletes so they can be in peak health. I believe if I can know all that there is to know that my care will not only be better and more trusting for patients, but that it will be lifelong knowledge they can apply to everyday life. When I decide what I want to pursue I will enter into a graduate program to help achieve this goal 

Become a Mentor 

The health, fitness, and wellness field is very overtaken by men and false knowledge that is spread through social media. I want to be able to educate and inspire people to take control of their health and wellbeing. As a mentor I would be able to provide professional advice and support to people who may be scared to make the jump or commitment to their health. I am currently pursuing this goal by leading by example to my athletes I coach and try everyday to inspire them.

MY MAJOR 

My major is Exercise Science, I am earning my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. What is exercise science? I get that question a lot... Exercise Science is the study of human health, wellness, and movement. Through my education I get an extensive background in subjects like anatomy, physiology, nutrition, strength training, biomechanics, and disease prevention, etc.. As an exercise science student we learn about the human response and adaptation to exercise and focus on the mechanisms that affect exercise.

I selected to be in this major because I have a passion for sports and fitness since I was young. Science and PE were my favorite classes throughout grade school so it seemed as if it was an obvious choice. I have found all my classes very interesting and have gained hands on experience by being in this major through many service learning activities. Although I am not certain where exactly my future job is going to be, I know that I will be well equipped to succeed and flourish. There are things about my future that I am certain about I want to help people and encourage and teach healthy lifestyle habits. I have a passion for being a coach and I enjoy sports and all of the science behind it.
